Pulp+Wire Honored by Susan L. Curtis Foundation

Pulp+Wire of Portland, ME was recently presented with the ‘Champion’ Award by the Susan Curtis Foundation for their design work on the 2010 Annual Leadership Celebration.

Acclaimed local design firm Pulp+Wire was recognized by the Susan L. Curtis Foundation last week at their 40th Annual Meeting and Recognition Reception with the “Champion” award for their creative design services in the development of the 2010 campaign for the Annual Leadership Celebration.

The Susan L. Curtis Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization founded in 1971, named for the daughter of Governor Kenneth M. Curtis and Pauline B. Curtis. Today, the Susan L. Curtis Foundation endeavors to overcome the effects of poverty as a barrier to education for children.

The Foundation has inspired many young lives and continues to have the support of thousands of Maine people, businesses, service clubs and civic organizations. The Susan L. Curtis Foundation works to ensure that children can develop self-esteem and a powerful self-concept through outdoor experiential education and mentoring.

“The design of our collateral materials contributed tremendously to creating a very positive image for us in the community,” said Lori Southworth, Development Director for the foundation. “It wasn’t only the Annual Celebration, Pulp+Wire also helped us with the program design for our annual golf tournament and auction. We serve 500 children each summer, but we’re a comparatively small team, and have to fundraise 80% of our budget. So the donation of Pulp+Wire’s remarkable talent and time, was greatly appreciated.”

In addition to receiving the “Champion” Award from the Susan Curtis Foundation, Pulp+Wire also won an award for the same campaign at the 2010 GDUSA Awards presented by Graphic Design USA.
